The River House is your oasis of calm in the rice fields of Perenenan Canggu. The owners built this remarkable villa as their personal Bali residence, completing the project in 2019. It was designed to be as comfortable as any residential home in the world, with thoughtful decorations throughout.
Conceptualised by renowned Bali based architect Alexis Dornier, the River House was built with locally sourced sandstone and reclaimed timber. In addition, the wooden latticework on the exterior, paired with multiple semi-outdoor spaces, provide different perspectives and viewpoints as you enjoy all the villa has to offer.
The interior design by Somewhere Concepts works to bring you through the grand entrance into an inviting space that blends Bali’s topical outdoors with comfortable finishings. Expect to be flawed by the double-height ceilings, expansive alfresco dining area and poolside tropical gardens. Contemporary minimalism is effortlessly seen throughout the River House. Here you will see the vertical 25m swimming pool, perfectly surrounded by lush greenery to offer shade from the afternoon sun.
Experience a new way of living with views of the generous landscaped gardens thoughtfully prepared by the Bali Landscape Company featuring coconut trees, rice fields and river access. The River House is cared for by our Villa Manager and professional housekeeping staff from 8:00 – 17:00 each day.
The Area
The River House is located in Pererenan Canggu. Characterised by Bali’s signature rice fields, the area is popular with locals, tourists, and expats. Pererenan is one of Bali’s smaller seaside villages that has seen huge growth in recent years. The area is still far enough away from the tourist crowds with great surf breaks and private beaches to enjoy.
Previously, Canggu, Berawa, Pererenan and Umalas could have been considered remote areas of the island. Today, these are some of Bali’s best destinations and are still a place of important spiritual and cultural practice. We are confident you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Monthly Rental
Monthly Rental (30-day stays) are available for the last half of 2021 and until March 2021.
The current rate is USD $25,500 per month. 25% deposit is due to complete the booking and the balance is due 30 days before arrival.
Bookings made within 30 days from arrival require payment in full upon booking.
The rate is inclusive of full access to the villa. housekeeping staff, daily cleaning, gardeners and pool maintenance, wi-fi, water and parking.
The rate excludes electricity.
